A Reddit user reports scoring an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Gigabyte B850M Eagle motherboard, and Corsair 32GB DDR5-6000 kit, normally totaling about $1,013, for $86.98 after a brief pricing glitch in Newegg’s combo configurator. Newegg reportedly honored the orders and shipped the parts before patching the issue, leaving the buyer only needing a case, SSD, and GPU to complete the build.

These days, it’s practically impossible to find a single DDR5 memory module for less than $100. Still, one Redditor struck gold, with a 90% off discount, getting an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, a Gigabyte B850M Eagle motherboard, and a Corsair 32GB DDR5-6000 memory kit, which would normally cost over a $1000, for a mere $87 thanks to a glitch in Newegg’s part-picking configurator.

The Redditor in question, u/KTsoFresh, shared their story on r/pcmasterrace after using Newegg’s combo configuration tool and discovering a glitch in the system, making for one of the best accidental deals of a lifetime. For context, the Redditor saved 91% off on a barebones build.

The Redditor was curating parts on Newegg’s combo tool and added an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 processor alongside a Gigabyte 850M motherboard. For RAM, he chose Corsair’s 32GB DDR5-6000 memory kit, and that’s when Newegg’s tool glitched out.

The Newegg $87 Combo Configurator Glitch: Components and Pricing Breakdown

The build should have cost the Redditor over $1000. However, after a pricing discrepancy, the final total for the build dropped to $86.98, a reduction of an unexpected $926. Here’s a breakdown of his components, retail price, and final discount:

The user was skeptical at first, expecting the price to correct itself at checkout, but it never did. He purchased the components and waited a few days, expecting a refund or cancellation notice from Newegg.

Instead, the order status proceeded from “accepted” to “packaged” and finally to “shipped.” Of course, he remained skeptical until the last moment, when the order arrived at his doorstep. All PC components arrived as listed.

Other users were also able to snag the same combo, dropping orders from around $800 to a mere $100. However, this combo part-picker glitch on Newegg’s website lasted only briefly and has now been fixed.

To make matters more interesting, Newegg even responded to the Reddit thread with a simple wink emoji. Still, the Redditor’s build isn’t complete; they need to get their hands on an SSD, a PC case, and a GPU to complete it.
