PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra see a big price drop during Sony’s Lunar New Year sale

Sony is once again offering a solid discount on PlayStation Plus, and this time the deal is even better than what we saw during Black Friday last year. Back then, Sony was offering discounts of up to 33% depending on the subscription tier. If you missed out on that offer, Sony is giving you another chance to subscribe for less.
As part of the ongoing Lunar New Year sale, Sony is now offering up to 35% off on the PlayStation Plus Premium membership. New subscribers can get the Premium tier for $99.99, which is a big drop from its usual yearly price of $159.99. Do keep in mind that this discount only applies to the yearly plan, not the monthly subscription.
The PlayStation Plus Extra tier is also discounted. Its yearly plan is currently available with 25% off, reducing the price from $134.99 to $99.99. On the other hand, the Essential tier is still at its regular price.
Existing subscribers can also benefit from this promotion, as if you already have an Essential or Extra membership, you can upgrade to Premium with a 35% discount. If you’re on Essential and want to move up to Extra, Sony is offering a 25% discount on that upgrade as well. Do keep in mind that the offer is live until February 26, after which you’ll have to pay full price.
If you’re unsure which tier to choose, the differences are fairly straightforward. PlayStation Plus Extra gives you access to the Game Catalog, which includes hundreds of downloadable games, along with free monthly titles, exclusive discounts, and access to Ubisoft+ Classics. PlayStation Plus Premium includes everything in Extra, plus the Classics Catalog, time-limited game trials, and cloud streaming for supported titles.
