TrimUI is working on a clamshell retro handheld. Positioned as a smaller alternative to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, the handheld is said to have a 4.7-inch display and may be as little as 15 mm thick.

TrimUI already has one retro handheld in the works. For the time being, we await full details about the Brick Pro. However, early indications are that the company has a response to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (curr. $269 on Amazon) and other recent clamshell handhelds, too.

Specifically, sketches of a device called the TrimUI Flap X1 have emerged on Tieba Baidu. For context, we have been here before with the Smart Pro S. While the device has been available to purchase since November 2025, initial sketches surfaced in July on Baidu too. Thus, we have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the design shown below.

Reportedly, the TrimUI Flap X1 features a 4.7-inch display. If that is the case, then the device would be noticeably smaller than the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, which features the same the 5.5-inch panel used in the Retroid Pocket 5. Unfortunately, other details are unknown at this stage. TrimUI has opted for in-line triggers and the button layout of the older Retroid Pocket Flip.

The TrimUI Flap X1 may measure 125~130 x 75~80 x ~15 mm.
