Ayaneo Next 2 with powerful AMD Strix Halo APU nears launch after months of teases

Ayaneo has announced the date for its next product sharing session, February 08, 2026. For those unaware, in these sessions, the company details and launches new products, and, as the announcement mentions, the Next 2 will be the highlight of the upcoming event.
Looking back, Ayaneo has been teasing this gaming handheld for quite a while now. It was first teased in July 2025, and later down the line, the company announced that it would soon launch on Indiegogo. However, there were some major changes made to how Ayaneo operates, which have delayed crowdfunding plans for many devices.
Now, with the latest announcement, it seems that the launch of the Strix Halo-powered Next II is around the corner. Since the initial announcement, the brand has shared a lot about the gaming handheld, including the design, cooling setup, battery capacity, and display.
For those who missed the past announcements, the Ayaneo Next 2 will feature a built-in battery, making it different than the GPD Win 5, which is also powered by the AMD Strix Halo lineup. It also comes with a fairly large display, and this screen is said to be the same 165 Hz OLED panel as one on the RedMagic Astra.
The gaming handheld is also confirmed to feature Hall Effect joysticks and linear triggers (Hall Effect Manba One controller curr. $55.99 on Amazon). There are dual-mode trigger locks, and the geometric rear buttons offer ten-finger control. Of course, the size of the Next 2 is something that potential buyers should consider, as it's noticeably larger than competing gaming handhelds like the OneXFly Apex and GPD Win 5.
