Ayaneo should be revealing full details tomorrow about its quasi-Kun successor during its next Product Sharing Session. For reference, the company has committed to hosting said event from around 07:30 on November 29. In the meantime, it has confirmed more information about the Next II that was missing from previous teasers.
To recap, Ayaneo had already confirmed that the Next II would leverage AMD's Strix Halo architecture, just like the GPD Win 5 and OneXFly Apex before it. Currently Ayaneo has only mentioned the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which remains the most powerful Strix Halo APU alongside its Pro counterpart. However, we would not be surprised if the Next II starts with the cheaper and less powerful Ryzen AI Max 385, like GPD and One-Netbook's alternatives.
Although this remains unknown for now, Ayaneo has finally confirmed a few display specifications that see the Next II surpassing the Kun, OneXFly Apex and the OneXPlayer X1 Mini in terms of size. Conversely, the Abxylute 3D One and OneXPlayer X1 series (curr. $1,399 on Amazon) will remain the largest handhelds around with 10.95-inch displays.
As the embedded tweet below shows, Ayaneo will be offering the Next II with a 9-inch OLED display that outputs at 2,400 x 1,504 pixels with a 165 Hz refresh rate. A native landscape panel, this may well be the same panel already found in the RedMagic Astra that we reviewed earlier this year. Ayaneo is yet to confirm pricing or availability though, let alone how much its first 9-inch gaming handheld weighs.
