According to new reports, Game Kiddy (GKD) is working towards refreshing one of its gaming handhelds. To recap, the company released the Pixel 2 at the start of the year (curr. $85 on Amazon). Arriving less than a year after the original Pixel, the Pixel 2 adopted a higher resolution display and a faster chipset than its predecessor, among other changes.
Supposedly, GKD is plotting similar upgrades for a new 350H horizontal handheld. For context, the original 350H arrived over six years ago. A few years later, GKD introduced the 350H Plus with a metal shell. According to Neo Rabbit, an updated GKD 350H will build on this variant with a metal and glass design, much like the upcoming Ayaneo Pocket Vert.
Moreover, the next GKD 350H is said to retain a 3.5-inch display to mirror earlier models. However, the panel is believed to have jumped from 320 x 240 pixels to 1,600 x 1,440 pixels for 10x integer scaling when emulating Game Boy games. In that sense, it sounds like GKD will source the same panel that Ayaneo is using in the Pocket Vert. Presumably, a more pixel-dense display requires a more powerful chipset as well. Other details about the next GKD 350H remain unknown for now, though.
