In recent years, Vivo has taken a different approach to its foldable division than its regular candybar smartphones. For context, the company offers the X300 and X300 Pro globally. Meanwhile, last year's X Fold5 only received a limited release, unlike alternatives from Honor, Samsung and Google.
Similarly, the X Fold5 trailed its peers on performance thanks to its reliance on Qualcomm's older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 silicon. That said, Vivo is expected to overcome one of these shortcomings with the release of the X Fold6. Reportedly, the company's next foldable will adopt the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which can already be picked up inside sub-flagships like the OnePlus 15R (curr. $699 on Amazon).
Moreover, leaker Smart Pikachu suggests that Vivo has developed the X Fold6 with a 200 MP camera too and a multispectral sensor to maximise colour accuracy. Whether this 200 MP sensor makes its way into a primary or telephoto Zeiss-tuned camera remains unclear at this point, though. Likewise, there are no indications to suggest that the X Fold6 will match the Find N6 in being available globally, either.
