OnePlus has now launched the OnePlus 15R globally. Replacing the OnePlus 13R in the process, the OnePlus 15R serves as a cheaper and slightly less powerful alternative to the OnePlus 15 that debuted outside of China over a month ago (curr. $899.99 on Amazon).
As expected, the OnePlus 15R leverages a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 flash storage. Backed by a 7,400 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired charging, early benchmarks indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 helps the OnePlus 15R outperform the OnePlus 13 in some circumstances.
Additionally, the new device features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that delivers a 1,272 x 2,800-pixel resolution, a 450 PPI pixel density, 1,800 nits peak brightness and a 165 Hz variable refresh rate. It is worth noting that display only delivers 144 Hz or 165 Hz modes for listed apps; otherwise, the OnePlus 15R drops to a 120 Hz mode.
Setting that aside, the device also features 50 MP primary (Sony IMX906), 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 32 MP front-facing cameras. Unfortunately, the device makes do with a USB 2.0 Type-C port. Also, the device's weight varies between 213 g, 218 g and 219 g for its Electric Violet, Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze colour options, respectively.
The OnePlus 15R starts at INR 47,999, €699, £649 and $699 with 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device can be configured with 512 GB of storage for INR 52,999, €699, £629 and $799.99. Please note that EU/UK pricing for the device's 512 GB SKU will rise to €799/£729 after January 21.
