OnePlus has recently confirmed its new Turbo smartphone series for the Chinese market. Following the initial announcement, the company has revealed a major highlight of the upcoming lineup.
Writing on the Chinese social media site Weibo, OnePlus President Louis Lee stated that battery capacity will be a defining focus of the Turbo series. The executive revealed that the Turbo series is intended to become the battery-life benchmark in its segment.
While the exact battery capacity was not revealed, OnePlus confirmed that it will surpass the capacity of the recently launched Ace 6T, which features an 8,300mAh battery. For context, the flagship OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon) comes with a 7,300mAh battery and delivers a noticeably longer battery runtime compared to its predecessor, as detailed in our review.
Rumored details of the OnePlus Turbo series
According to tipster Smart Pikachu, the OnePlus Turbo series will feature a battery around the 9,000mAh mark. Two models are rumored to launch initially, with one of them featuring an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Moreover, the tipster also hinted that the Turbo series may feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
