Samsung has been an official partner and sponsor of the Olympics for decades, and as part of its tradition, it is known to launch a special edition of at least one of its flagship smartphones for every Olympic Games. That trend will continue with the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics beginning in February 2026, as Samsung has announced a special edition of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The new Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition is a limited edition variant of the 2025 clamshell foldable smartphone. This version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a gold frame and a blue back. The back has both the Olympics and Samsung logos in gold.
According to Samsung, the blue back “aligns with the unique style of Milano Cortina 2026” while the gold frame “symbolizes athletes' pursuit of excellence and podium moments as well as the brand's aspiration for the best”.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition comes in a special case that also includes a clear magnetic case. The case has a blue magnet that is framed at the corners by gold laurels. The phone also comes with special software features such as custom wallpapers, a translation app, and an official Olympic Games app, all of which athletes will find useful during the tournament.
There's also a Galaxy Athlete Card feature that makes it easy for athletes to easily exchange profiles with one another by simply touching the back of their phones together. The athlete card will have the athlete's name, picture, country, and the sport they are competing in.
The Galaxy Z Flip Olympic Edition will not be officially sold but will be distributed to the nearly 3,800 athletes from 90 countries at the Winter Olympics. The phone will include a 5G eSIM with 100GB of data.
