The successor to the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is apparently nearing launch, as the supposed Nothing Phone (4a) Pro with the model number A069P has just been listed in the European Commission's EPREL database. The certification confirms initial details about the mid-range smartphone's features.
According to the listing, the battery capacity will increase only slightly from 5,000 mAh to 5,080 mAh, and charging will continue to be via USB-C with up to 50 watts. Based on the EU energy label's less stringent testing criteria, a battery life of over 63 hours should be possible. The battery is expected to last for 1,400 charge cycles before its remaining capacity drops below 80%.
With IP65 certification, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is slightly better protected against rain and water splashes than its predecessor, but it's still not completely waterproof. According to the certification, the display will only scratch when it comes into contact with an object that has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Nothing guarantees security updates for at least five years, but does not specify how many major Android updates the device will receive.
The mediocre repairability rating of "C" indicates that repairability remains a low priority for Nothing. Rumors are currently circulating that the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, but these are still unconfirmed. Nothing itself has already indicated that the manufacturer's next smartphone will be released before the end of March, albeit at a higher price. For context, the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage for a list price of 449 euros.
