Motorola is gearing up to launch the successor to the Moto G15, which is the entry-level smartphone that the brand launched in December 2024. This successor, the Moto G17, hasn't been formally announced yet, but a retailer listing has shared some initial details of the affordable phone.
Interestingly, the brand itself has confirmed one of the core specs through the support site. An official FAQ page for the Moto G17 shares that the phone has a microSD card slot with support for up to a 1 TB memory card. This page further confirms that Motorola will be offering a G17 Power model alongside the non-Power variant, but no concrete details are available about the former.
Getting to the retailer listing, it shares that the phone will be available in two colorways, and one of the versions of the phone will feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This could be one of the upper-end configurations set to be available for the base, as the base config of the G15 came with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The Moto G17 recently appeared on the Brazilian National Telecommunications database as well. This database listing hints that the phone will come with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging (20K Anker Zolo 30W power bank curr. $37.99 on Amazon). There's still no clear indication of when the phone might launch, but given that it has appeared on a retailer's site and the official support site, the official debut might be around the corner.
