Garmin has released another stable update for the Approach S12 GPS golf watch. This older smartwatch, which launched in 2021, has not received new software for a couple of years. Now, System Software 5.10 is tackling two bugs experienced by users of the wearable.
The release notes for the version 5.10 update state that Garmin has fixed an issue linked to auto course update files on the Approach S12 smartwatch (curr. $199.99 at Amazon). The wearable is now said to take teebox, par and handicap data from the download without a hitch. Secondly, the company says that it has resolved a problem where front and back dots were not displayed as expected on Green on the main golf page.
According to a recent post in the Garmin Forum, Approach S12 System Software 5.10 has currently reached around 30% of users. When it is available to you, you will be able to install the update in one of two ways: via the Garmin Golf smartphone app or the Garmin Express computer software. A similar update is also rolling out to users of the Approach G12, a clip-on GPS golf range finder. Plus, the company has recently pushed stable updates to other golf smartwatches, like the Approach S70, the Approach S44 and the Approach S50.
