Garmin: Major new update released for older high-end smartwatches

Garmin has started a new software revision for older high-end smartwatches like the Enduro 2, Fenix 7 and the Quatix 7 (curr. $339.99 on Amazon). To recap, less than a month has passed since the company delivered System Software 25.11 with over a dozen improvements from System Software 23.48. As is often the case, Garmin has returned with a new beta build rather than transitioning directly to a fresh stable build.
Specifically, the company is now offering Beta Version 26.02 to its Beta Program participants. Please note that this update disables ECG functionality. Typically, Garmin only re-enables ECG when it is ready to transition beta development to its stable software branch. Based on past performance, Garmin may not begin offering stable v26.xx builds until the spring.
In the meantime, Beta Version 26.02 offers a few insights into what is to come from a future v26.xx stable update. For instance, Garmin has added Rally 110 and Rally 210 cycling power meter pedal support. Additionally, Garmin claims to have resolved four outstanding bugs, which are listed below. Garmin will deliver Beta Version 26.02 via Connect Mobile as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
Beta Version 26.02 changelog
- Added Rally 110/210 support.
- Fixed an issue where setting a custom GPS configuration for certain activity profiles would not save.
- Fixed an issue where the compass calibration tutorial video would sometimes not display.
- Fixed an issue where the Stages Power Meter would sometimes not pair.
- Fixed an issue where the watch face would sometimes erroneously switch to battery saver mode.
