Garmin releases workout-related fixes in new beta smartwatch update

The Garmin Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches are receiving a new beta update. The version 16.28 release arrives a couple of weeks after the last update, beta version 16.17, which brought a range of bug fixes to these wearables.
Garmin recently announced the beta version 16.28 for these Forerunner smartwatches in a post on its official forum. While the release notes (below) list over 20 changes, many of these arrived with earlier updates in the 16.xx testing cycle. There are, however, five new improvements with this release.
Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 users can now save custom targets on golf courses and save changes for structured repeats ready for their next interval workout. Garmin has resolved a problem where the wrong Garmin Coach cycling workout was loaded. Plus, there are updates for the smartwatch's translation functionality.
On top of this, users of the Garmin Forerunner 970 (curr. $732.99 at Amazon) get a second bug fix linked to the Backcountry Ski activity. As such, maximum speed and mileage data are now visible once more on the post-activity summary page. You can find the complete change log below. To download the beta version 16.28 update, go to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
