Honor Magic V6 revealed in hands-on footage before Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8-beating global debut

Earlier this month, actor Nicholas Tse was spotted using an unreleased foldable smartphone. Rather than the Oppo Find N6, it seemed that Tse was showing off Honor's successor to the Magic V5 instead (curr. $1,590 on Amazon). Now, keen-eyed Weiboers believe that they have witnessed the Magic V6 being used at the Winter Olympics.
Specifically, aerial skier Xu Mengtao was captured holding the same device during her recent gold medal win. Mengtao has form for using foldable devices publicly too, including Huawei's Mate XTs and older Magic Vs models. Thus, we would not be surprised if Honor had coordinated with Mengtao to tease the Magic V6 publicly before its official launch.
To that end, Honor has confirmed that Mengtao is a Magic V6 ambassador. So far, Honor has only confirmed that the Magic V6 will launch globally on March 1 before being showcased throughout MWC 2026 in Barcelona between March 2 and March 5. With the Galaxy Z Fold8 expected to launch globally in July, the Magic V6 should have around a 3-4 month advantage of its Samsung rival. Recent leaks indicate that Honor will complement Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform with a 7,150 mAh battery and 120 W wired charging.
