First-gen Apple robot tipped to cost about as much as new iPad Pro
Apple is currently thought to re-direct its earlier enthusiasm for automotive tech into something for the home of the future: its very own robot. Then again, while it goes by that name, the first-gen product is also believed to emerge as something with an iPad-sized touchscreen attached to an automatic, somewhat autonomic, monitor arm.
Nevertheless, the concept might seem a little basic coming from the Cupertino behemoth, although some consumers might find it more acceptable than something full of cameras that can follow you around. The inaugural robot is also, of course, backed to make its user's home as smart as possible with the latest in Apple Intelligence.
However, there would be a cost for all that AI prowess, as the robot will cost "about $1,000" on its release, according to Bloomberg tech correspondent Mark Gurman. Accordingly, early adopters might find the prospect equivalent to buying a second new iPhone - or, indeed, another iPad Pro based on their current Amazon prices.
