A distinguished Apple analyst has offered up a date for Apple's next hardware event. Not only that, but they have also revealed when Apple intends to begin shipping the iPhone 16 series and the launch window for four new Apple M4-powered Mac products.

Apple has not officially confirmed the date of its next major product launch yet. Nonetheless, there were suggestions earlier this week that an invite for said event may have leaked ahead of schedule. Despite being quickly disproven, it seems there may have been an element of truth to the date put forward.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple intends to host its annual iPhone event on September 10, during which it will present not just the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max but also the Apple Watch Series 10. Reportedly, the company plans to unveil new AirPods at the same event, too. However, Gurman implies that two AirPods models will arrive on September 10, not three as was previously suggested.

Specifically, he reports that Apple has created 'new low-end and mid-tier versions', adding that the latter segment will receive active noise cancellation (ANC) for the first time. On top of that, the Watch Series 10 is said to feature larger displays, although detailed information about this surfaced almost two months ago. Regardless, Gurman states that while Apple may introduce various new products on September 10, it could be another 10 days before the iPhone 16 series begins shipping.

Meanwhile, the same analyst claims that Apple is still preparing to transition its Mac portfolio to M4 generation chipsets later this year. Allegedly, the company is now testing four new M4-powered Macs ahead of a mid-October launch event, presumably with more powerful options than the Apple M4 than it has presented so far. Currently, Apple's October event is expected to showcase updated MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 laptops, as well as a smaller Mac mini and a new iMac (curr. $1,299 on Amazon).
