Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max said to feature surprisingly large battery

After a reliable leaker revealed details about the iPhone 18 Pro's battery capacity, an image has now surfaced on the Chinese social network Weibo that purports to show the batteries of both variants of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, including their exact capacities. According to the image, the battery of the top-of-the-line model is actually slightly larger than previously expected.

The version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max for the European market, which features both a nano-SIM slot and an eSIM, is said to offer a battery capacity of 5,235 mAh, which is 412 mAh, or 8.5 percent, more than the iPhone 17 Pro Max ($1,340 on Amazon). The U.S. version, which does away with a SIM card entirely and offers a dual eSIM instead, is expected to see an upgrade from 5,088 mAh to 5,425 mAh, providing 6.6 percent more battery capacity than before. While this means the Apple doesn’t quite match the massive batteries found in some Chinese flagship models, when paired with the more efficient 2-nm Apple A20 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could achieve significantly longer battery life than its predecessor.
