Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 (SM6850) is an ARMv8-based SoC for Android smartphones and tablets. Compared to its predecessor, it uses an older CPU architecture but offers higher clock speeds.
The CPU consists of two clusters with four high-performance cores (Cortex-A78, up to 2.6 GHz) and four power-efficient cores (Cortex-A55, up to 2.0 GHz). It supports either LPDDR4X (up to 2,133 MHz) or LPDDR5 (up to 3,200 MHz) RAM. Graphics processing is handled by the integrated Adreno 812.
In our benchmarks with the Honor X80 Pro Max, the SD 6 Gen 5 was able to perform similar to an old Snapdragon 888+ and best the old Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 (although it features more modern cores).
Compared to its predecessor, there are some limitations: Support for mmWave 5G and the L2 GPS band has been removed. Additionally, the USB interface now only supports USB 2.0. However, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 are now supported.
Other features include a dual ISP with an AI night photography mode, Bluetooth Channel Sounding, and 30% higher AI performance than its predecessor. The SoC also supports UFS 3.1 storage. The 5G modem achieves download speeds of up to 2.9 Gbit/s.
The SoC is manufactured by TSMC using a 4 nm process.
