The Honor X80 Pro Max isn’t afraid to get dirty: Thanks to its IP69K certification, you can use it even in very dusty environments without worrying about your expensive piece of technology.

Protected against drops, water, and dust

And even if it does happen to fall, it shouldn’t be much of a problem for the smartphone: There might be a few scratches, but the X80 Pro Max shouldn’t suffer any major damage even from drops of up to 3 meters. It can be submerged in fresh water up to 10 meters deep without the pressure causing any issues. And, of course, it’s also protected against water ingress.

The phone is actually relatively affordable: for example, from TradingShenzhen starting at US$ 463. However, you shouldn’t shy away from importing it from China—which, thanks to new shipping methods, is relatively risk-free.

Still, it boasts a stylish design

The phone isn’t a clunky industrial design piece or a rubber-coated, angular rugged phone—it actually looks quite elegant: available in beige or red with a faux-leather back, or with a smooth dark gray finish.

At just 0.3189 inches (8.1 millimeters) thick (excluding the camera module), it’s also quite slim and, thanks to barely visible screen bezels, features a modern design on the front as well. And with a weight of 0.4475 lbs (203 grams), it’s perfectly suitable for everyday use.

No power issues in the wilderness

It’s important to note that the phone also comes with a massive battery: it has a capacity of 11,000 mAh and lasted over 29 hours in our Wi-Fi test. That means you can spend two days in the wilderness, even without a power bank. Still, the phone won’t run out of juice anytime soon.

The camera, however, could be a drawback: The company cut corners here, so there’s only a decent single camera on the back without much zoom capability.
