The Xiaomi 18 Pro series is set to rival the other flagship phones that are set to launch in September 2026 in China. Ahead of the launch, the company's CEO, Lu Weibing, has showcased the Pro phone in a real-world hands-on video.

Xiaomi has started teasing its next-gen flagship phone series, and recently, a teaser video showcased the slightly updated rear design of the upcoming Pro phones. Now, the company's CEO, Lu Weibing, has offered a detailed look at the Xiaomi 18 Pro through a new hands-on video.

Thanks to this video, it's now confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will come with an updated camera setup. The line will sport a 3.2x telephoto, which might seem like a downgrade from the 5x periscope sensor found in last-gen phones, but the new camera is set to have an f/2.4 aperture. That means compared to the f/2.6 lens, the new telephoto can work with more light.

As for the primary camera, it's set to be a 200MP sensor with an f/1.67 aperture, and the third sensor will be an ultrawide with a narrow 17mm-equivalent focal length. Another notable change on the back is that the rear screen appears to have narrower bezels, but it's unclear whether the other specs of this secondary display have seen upgrades.

Lu Weibing has also gone over the expanded lineup of mini apps that will be available for the secondary display of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. The company is promising more versatility and has even announced that users will be able to create their own mini apps with the help of AI.

The video has also given a glimpse of the front, and it appears that there are no notable changes other than the bezels seeming a bit narrower than those on the Xiaomi 17 Pro series. There's no word on the launch timeline, but the company has confirmed that the new lineup will be released in China by September 2026.
