Importing the Oppo Find X9 Pro: Euro prices, online shop comparison and the downsides

The European launch of the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro is already scheduled for October 28. The latter currently has the best Hasselblad smartphone camera, at least until the Oppo Find X9 Ultra launches next year. These phones will hit the European market with high price tags, as revealed by a recent leak. If these details prove to be correct, the Find X9 Pro will be quite expensive in Europe, and it won’t be available in the sleek red color option, which might entice some enthusiasts to import their new phone.

Three well-known retailers have already listed the Oppo Find X9 and the Oppo Find X9 Pro in their online stores, and Wondamobile says these devices will be available starting October 27. While Europe will likely only get a single configuration with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage on the Find X9 and 16GB RAM plus 512GB storage on the Find X9 Pro, customers in China have more variants to choose from. Installing Google apps is usually not an issue, but the Chinese models do not support eSIM, Wear OS watches and potentially Android Auto. Furthermore, the power-saving mechanisms in the Chinese version of ColorOS 16 could cause problems with incoming notifications if users don’t optimize them manually.

According to the official spec sheet, only the Oppo Find X9 Pro supports the important LTE band 20 and a wide range of 5G bands, so there shouldn’t be any issues in terms of connectivity in Europe. On the other hand, the Oppo Find X9 lacks band 20, so we would not recommend importing the base model. The table below compares the current European prices from the three retailers, namely Tradingshenzhen, Wondamobile and Giztop.

We can recommend Tradingshenzhen as a long-time partner of Notebookcheck, but we have no experience with the other two. Returns and enforcing warranty claims might be very difficult and is not as comfortable as with EU-based retailers. That said, these prices from all three shops supposedly include customs, taxes and import fees. All color choices are available at these stores, including the red Oppo Find X9 that will likely be exclusive to the Chinese market.
