Oppo claims two-day battery life from the new Find X9 Pro thanks to the giant 7,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery fit in an elegant body. The Find X9 Pro also comes with a 200 MP telephoto zoom camera that has been designed and calibrated in partnership with Hasselblad.

Oppo has taken the wraps off its new Find X9 series of phones that will be released globally, unlike their predecessors that were only available in select Asian markets.

A pioneer of dynamic refresh rate displays with wide color gamut coverage and dual periscope zoom cameras, Oppo has managed to expand on its competitive advantages adding giant 7,000+ mAh batteries in the Find X9 series of slim phones that set them up for an "extraordinary" battery life.

Oppo Find X9 Pro specs and camera features

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset that gives the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 a run for its benchmarking money, the Oppo Find X9 series leans heavy on computational photography and AI-powered ColorOS 16 Android overlay.

The series starts with an Oppo Find X9 that sports a 6.59-inch screen, followed by a larger Find X9 Pro with a 6.78-inch display. Both are encompassed by tiny 1.15 mm bezels that are symmetrical all around. The displays aren't with the highest resolution out there, as the Find X9 Pro carries a 2772 × 1272 pixels panel that returns the middling 450 PPI pixel density. The screen has other virtues, however, such as high dynamic refresh rate and wide P3 color gamut coverage, as well as 1,800 of typical and 3,600 nits peak brightness.

OnePlus recently explained that it is using the same 6.78-inch BOE X3 display with 1.5K definition for the OnePlus 15 because there simply isn't a 2K 1440p panel that can support 165 Hz refresh rate just yet. On the Find X9 Pro, the X3 screen has 120 Hz refresh rate, but its resolution would bring lower power consumption to hit Oppo's advertised "two-day" battery life.

Besides the giant 7,500 mAh battery housed in a slim 8.25 mm body, the telephoto zoom camera with 200 MP Samsung sensor is the stand-out feature on the Oppo Find X9 Pro. The 200 MP Hasselblad Telephoto camera has been co-developed in terms of sensor calibration and optical design to fit a new Hasselblad Master Camera System powered by Oppo's new Lumo image engine that controls the following Find X9 Pro camera hardware and features:

  • 50 MP main camera with f/1.5 aperture, 23 mm equivalent focal length, seven-element lens, and four-axis OIS.
  • 50 MP ultrawide camera with f/2.0 aperture, 15 mm equivalent focal length, six-element lens, and 120° viewing angle.
  • 200 MP telephoto camera with f/2.1 aperture, 70 mm equivalent focal length (3x optical zoom), six-element lens, and four-axis OIS.
  • 50 MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, 21 mm equivalent focal length, five-element lens, and autofocus.
  • Danxia Color Restoration lens with f/2.4 aperture, 21 mm equivalent focal length, and three-element lens.
  • 4K 120 FPS Dolby Vision video recording.

Oppo used larger camera sensor and wider aperture to collect more light than on the X9 Pro predecessor so that the new phone can take clearer zoom shots at events like concerts, as well as better portraits. Thanks to the 200 MP sensor resolution, Oppo also engages in some clever cropping to arrive at a 120X digital Super Zoom feature.

Oppo Find X9 series battery life

The Find X9 Pro and Find X9 come with one of the largest batteries in their category, thanks to the silicon-carbon technology that offers increased energy density and Oppo claims that they can last two days between charges with "average use."

While that remains to be tested, a 7,500 mAh battery in a phone that is less than 9 mm thick is something that would've been unthinkable just two years back. The Find X9 carries a smaller 7,025 mAh battery, as well as a 50 MP instead of 200 MP telephoto camera, so its price is quite a bit lower.

Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro price and release date

  • Find X9 price: from 4,399 yuan ($617) for the 12GB/256GB version
  • Find X9 Pro price: from 5,999 yuan ($840) for the 12GB/256GB version

Oppo will hold a global Find X9 series launch event on October 28, where it will announce pricing and market availability. In China, the Find X9 Pro is available in configurations with 12 GB RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, as well as a top-shelf variant with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB or the impressive 1 TB storage.
