200 MP versus 100 MP. Around $1,000 versus $11,000. Smartphone versus system camera. For years, smartphones have been attempting to render DSLRs and mirrorless cameras obsolete. Indeed, slim smartphones are increasingly approaching the quality of a full-size camera and increasingly replacing them, at least for many private users. Oppo aims to discourage Chinese consumers from carrying a camera, at least when traveling, as countless Oppo Find X9 teasers in recent days have clearly highlighted.
"Hasselblad 200 million ultra-clear, no need to carry a camera when traveling!" reads a recent Weibo post from September 29, 2025 (machine-translated). To support this claim, Oppo manager Zhou Yibao, who is responsible for the Find smartphone series, recently made a photo comparison with his Hasselblad X2D II 100C during a trip to Mongolia. This system camera currently costs around $7,400 for the camera unit alone, and $11,098 when paired with an XCD 2.5/55V lens (according to the Hasselblad web shop).
200 MP against 100 MP
In terms of resolution, the Oppo Find X9 Pro even has advantages. A 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor is used for the 70mm telephoto lens, as leaker Digital Chat Station recently revealed in a Weibo post (see comparison below). The yet-to-be-officially announced Samsung sensor is rumored to combine 200 MP with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, corresponding to a pixel size of 0.5 micrometers. Hasselblad, on the other hand, specifies a pixel size of 3.76 micrometers for the 100 MP medium-format sensor. What's special about the Oppo Find X9 Pro, however, is that it now shoots at the highest possible resolution by default, i.e., 50 or 200 MP, and no longer scales down to 12 MP, at least not when "certain conditions" are met, such as sufficient ambient light.
Specs of the two Oppo Find X9 Hasselblad camera flagships
Whether the comparison favors the "real" Hasselblad camera or not is likely to be a matter of personal taste for many. Either way, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is probably good enough for most holidaymakers. Leaker Digital Chat Station also recently listed the specific features of the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Find X9. Some specs were already revealed earlier; below is an overview of the supposed hardware features. The external Hasselblad lens, compatible with at least the Pro model, was first seen in an unboxing video last weekend and turns the 70mm telephoto lens into an approximately 220mm telephoto lens. The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will be unveiled in China on October 16, and a global launch date is also likely to be announced soon.
