This is a pretty important week for fans of Chinese smartphones. In addition to the Vivo X300 launch on Monday, Honor will follow suit in the next few days with the Magic 8 launch. Oppo will also hold the first presentation of the Find X9 series, for which several official camera samples have emerged recently. A leaker has also provided numerous specifications of both Oppo flagships.

A lot is happening in China these days. After Xiaomi launched the new Xiaomi 17 generation at the end of September and kicked off the release of many new flagship smartphones based on new Qualcomm and MediaTek chipsets, a whole host of other phones will follow this week. These phones are looking to impress with their cameras and the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Dimensity 9500 processors. Following the Vivo X300 Pro on Monday, the Honor Magic 8 flagships will be unveiled on Wednesday, followed by the Oppo Find X9 on Thursday.

The latter will launch on October 16 along with several other new Oppo products. These new Oppo Find X9 phones are also expected to launch in Europe shortly after. Like Vivo with its Zeiss cameras, Oppo is again collaborating with Hasselblad, although Oppo has shown fewer camera samples from its new triple-cams thus far. Nevertheless, a few photos have been posted on Oppo's official Weibo channels over the last few days. Many of the following shots are 4K motion samples, but we have only included them as still images. You can view the short video sequences on Weibo via this link.

Improved Hasselblad Xpan mode

Oppo will improve the already-known Hasselblad XPan mode on the Find X9. It can capture particularly wide "cinemascope shots" in the style of the former Hasselblad camera. The video below illustrates how this works. For example, it shows that users can switch between all cameras of the Oppo Find X9 Pro in XPan mode and select various photo styles, such as black and white or film negative. The short demo video also shows some of the results.

More Hasselblad Xpan samples

More camera samples in this wide Hasselblad XPan format can be found on Oppo's official Weibo channels. We have embedded some of them below:
