Ahead of release, OnePlus has been revealing key highlights of the OnePlus 15. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered flagship phone was recently confirmed to feature a large 7,300mAh battery. The company has also previously detailed its new 165Hz display. Now, OnePlus has revealed some details on the OnePlus 15's camera.
Since the OnePlus 9 series, the flagship OnePlus phones have used a Hasselblad-tuned camera system. However, the partnership between Hasselblad and OnePlus has ended. As a result, there is no Hasselblad tuning on the OnePlus 15. Despite this change, OnePlus President Louis Lee said in a Weibo post that the OnePlus 15 has the company's best camera yet. The new flagship will feature Oppo's "LUMO Condensed Light Imaging" technology. OnePlus has not yet detailed how this technology will enhance camera performance.
The company has confirmed that the phone will retain some features like "Master Mode" and "XPan Mode." The OnePlus 15 will have a 50MP triple rear camera setup. The periscope telephoto lens will support a 3.5x optical zoom, equivalent to an 85mm focal length. Notably, the phone will support 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video recording.
Leaked camera details of the OnePlus 15
OnePlus has not disclosed the specific camera sensor information for the OnePlus 15. However, a previous leak revealed that it will have a 50MP 1/1.56" primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It is said to use an ISOCELL JN5 telephoto camera featuring a 1/2.75" sensor size and an f/2.8 aperture. For comparison, the OnePlus 13 featured larger 1/1.43" primary and 1/1.95" telephoto sensors. The ultrawide cameras on the OnePlus 15 and 13 may remain identical. These specifications remain unconfirmed.
The OnePlus 15 is set to launch on October 27 in China. Along with the flagship model, the company will introduce a more affordable Ace 6. The OnePlus 15 is expected to receive a global release in November.
