Redmi is all set to launch its new K90 series on October 23 in China. The company confirmed that it will launch the standard K90 and the K90 Pro Max models. Previously, Xiaomi revealed the design and some key features of the K90 Pro Max. Now, the design of the standard model has also been officially revealed.
Redmi has posted promo pictures of the K90 on the Chinese social media site Weibo, giving us a first look at the phone in multiple color options. Like the K90 Pro Max, the standard K90 also has a rectangular rear camera housing. Notably, the camera module looks similar to the Redmi K70, which launched in 2023.
Highlights of the Redmi K90
The Redmi K90 has been confirmed to feature a 6.59-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 94%. For comparison, the K80 featured a 6.67-inch screen. The K90 appears to have a triple rear camera setup. Going by previous leaks, the K90 may have a telephoto lens, which was absent on the K80. Moreover, it may see a big jump in the battery department with a large 7,000mAh capacity.
The phone is confirmed to have a metal frame. Additionally, the promo image confirms that the Redmi K90 has Bose-tuned audio. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, similar to the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6.
For those unaware, the Redmi K series smartphones are often launched with a different moniker for markets outside China. For example, the Redmi K80 was rebranded as the Poco F7 Pro internationally. Therefore, it is likely that Xiaomi will launch the standard Redmi K90 as the Poco F8 Pro in the global market.
