Xiaomi is on the verge of launching the Redmi K90 series in China. By the looks of things, the company will be introducing the Redmi K90 Pro Max and one other smartphone this week in its home market. Based on the recent leaks and rumours, Xiaomi plans to offer the Redmi K90 series globally as the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra.
According to popular Weibo account Smart Pikachu, Xiaomi is not done with Redmi smartphone releases yet this year either. Once the Redmi K90 series is out of the way, the company is rumoured to be moving on to its second Redmi Turbo generation. Specifically, Smart Pikachu alleges that Xiaomi has ‘sped up’ its next Redmi Turbo device, having launched the Redmi Turbo 3 in April 2024, with Redmi Turbo 4 and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro successors following in January 2025 and April 2025, respectively.
From that, Sumaho Digest has inferred that the Redmi Turbo 5 will line up as soon as next month. Exactly when remains to be seen at this point, as does whether Xiaomi plans to offer the device globally as a successor to the Poco X7 Pro (curr. $363 on Amazon). Regardless, the Redmi Turbo 5 is tipped to arrive with a metal mid-frame, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a comparatively simple camera module. Reportedly, the device will land with a battery that surpasses the 6,550 mAh capacity of the existing Redmi Turbo 4.
