Redmi Turbo 5 Pro tipped to feature sub-flagship SoC, large battery, and flat screen

Xiaomi's Redmi Turbo series is expected to see some new additions soon. Among the upcoming releases, Digital Chat Station, a reliable Weibo leaker, has shared what's believed to be the key specs of the Turbo 5 Pro. As the tipster reports, it will pack a Dimensity 9-series SoC inside.

It's not clear whether it will be the 9500e or the last-gen 9400 or 9400+. To look back, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which was later rebranded as the Poco F7, launched with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 inside, a SoC that's considered to be the cheaper variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station also suggests that the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro will have a large battery inside, tipped to have a 9,000 mAh capacity,  a notable upgrade from the predecessor. The tipster adds that it will have support for the 100 W fast charging, which is also an upgrade (160 W Anker Prime charger curr. $109.99 on Amazon).

Besides that, the report shares that the upcoming Redmi phone will sport a flat 1.5K LTPS screen with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device is tipped to sport full-level water protection, and it could come with an advanced dual-speaker audio setup.

As for the other details, the Redmi Turbo 5 recently emerged on the 3C certification platform, suggesting that its launch is near. However, the Pro model isn't expected to release in 2025, as the usual timeline suggests a Q2 2026 launch. After the Chinese debut, it's expected to launch internationally as the Poco F8.
