Poco X8 Pro: Redmi Turbo 5 launch nears as potential features emerge in leak

Xiaomi's Poco sub-brand usually releases its X-series phones at the start of the year, and that looks set to be the case yet again with the Poco X8 Pro. In fact, new information raises the possibility of the performance-focused midranger arriving earlier than usual this time out. 

The Redmi Turbo 5 has already been certified in China ahead of its launch, being spotted at the 3C website bearing the model number "2511FRT34C". As revealed by multiple leakers, it appears Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in November. Comparatively, the Redmi Turbo 3 debuted in April, while the Redmi Turbo 4 launched in January. Following the Turbo 5's tipped November debut in China, it's widely expected to get rebadged as the Poco X8 Pro for the global market, likely in January. 

According to leaker Experience More, the Redmi Turbo 5 could arrive as the first smartphone with MediaTek's upcoming Dimensity 8500. Other speculated features include 100 W wired charging, a metal frame, and what could be interpreted as a display with a diagonal in the 6.6-inch region. Previous leaks claimed that the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch with a massive 8,000 mAh battery; while that remains unconfirmed, it seems certain that it will house a battery north of 7,000 mAh.
