Xiaomi is expected to refresh its Redmi sub-brand next month with the Redmi Note 15 series. Based on recent leaks, the company intends to offer the Redmi Note 15 Pro as the Poco X8 in some markets to mirror the relationship between the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and the Poco X7 (curr. $294.99 on Amazon). Now, it seems that Xiaomi plans to borrow from another future Redmi device in the creation of the Poco X8 Pro too.
Specifically, new IMEI database results return results for 2511FPC34G and 2511FRT34C with the same root model numbers as each other. Based on these, the former is a global variant that Xiaomi plans to release as a Poco-branded smartphone. Meanwhile, 2511FRT34C will only be sold in China under Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand.
According to Weibo leaker Experience More, 2511FRT34C is the model number for the Redmi Turbo 5, which will sit behind the Redmi K90 series in Xiaomi's product stack. Apparently, Xiaomi will equip the Redmi Turbo 5 with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset complemented by a metal mid-frame. Presumably, this will extend to the Poco X8 Pro too. At this stage, it appears that India will receive a specific Poco X8 Pro variant as well. It remains to be seen how Xiaomi will distinguish the two variants at this stage, though.
