An emerging Canada-based e-bike brand, Beachman, has unveiled its latest electric motorcycle, the ‘64, in the US. The company packs a powerful motor into this vehicle. To be more precise, you’ll get a 3,000 W brushless hub motor in the vehicle, which is said to offer a top speed of 45 mph (72 kph). However, there’s also an e-bike mode that limits the motor power to 750 W and offers a maximum speed of 20 mph (32 kph).
Despite the product having a large and (supposedly) powerful motor, a cafe racer design, and the top speed of a motorcycle, the company calls it an e-bike. In fact, the full model name on Beachman’s website is the ‘64 E-Bike. Speaking about the battery, the bike features a removable 2.88 kWh battery that delivers a range of up to 55 miles (88 km) on a single charge.
The battery of the vehicle is upgradable up to 3.6 kWh, which is said to offer an extended range of up to 70 miles (112 km). Furthermore, the Beachman ‘64 comes with three ride modes, including e-bike mode, moped mode, and off-road mode. Each mode has its own speed limit; for example, the e-bike mode allows you to ride the motorcycle at 20 mph (32 kph), while the moped and off-road modes are capped at 30 mph (48 kph) and 45 mph (72 kph), respectively.
Like other e-bikes, it lacks pedals, app-based controls, and a touchscreen. The ‘64 weighs around 230 lbs (104 kg) and can handle payloads of up to 300 lbs (136 kg). Other features include regenerative braking, a remote start/stop feature, an anti-theft handlebar lock, a double-locked battery, and fast charging support.
It’s available in six tank color options, including forest green, baja sand, cappuccino, pink, midnight black, beachman blue, and canvas. The Beachman ‘64 is priced at $4,800 and is now available for sale via Beachman’s official website.
