Insta360 has confirmed initial details about its first drone following a series of leaks and rumours about the same device. For the time being, Insta360 is keeping its cards close to its chest. However, it has offered up some information about what is expected to rival the DJI Mini 5 Pro by the end of the year.
For instance, Insta360 plans to sell the drone under the brand Antigravity rather than Insta360 itself. Specifically, Insta360 describes Antigravity as a brand 'incubated by Insta360 in collaboration with third parties' rather than merely an Insta360 subsidiary. Moreover, Antigravity will also run a 'Hub' where enthusiasts and community members can 'help shape the future of Antigravity's products and features'. As for the drone itself, it will officially weigh less than 249 g to meet the European Union's C0 drone class.
On top of that, Antigravity's first drone will offer 8K and 360-degree video recordings, unlike current rivals that cannot surpass 4K, like the Autel EVO Nano+ or DJI Mini 4 Pro. In that sense, the Antigravity drone sounds like it has camera capabilities similar to those of the Insta360 X5 (curr. $549.99 on Amazon). Antigravity will officially unveil its first drone in August. The company has not confirmed exactly when it plans to showcase the device or reveal its marketing name yet, though.
