Bose will launch its new Lifestyle Collection on May 15, headlined by the $299 Lifestyle Ultra Speaker (or $399 limited Driftwood Sand edition), the $1,099 Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, and the $899 Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer, with preorders open now and shipping beginning at launch.

MIT professor Amar Bose’s renowned high-end audio technology company has come a long way. The company has long produced reliable audiophile-grade headphones, soundbars, and earbuds. Now, it is returning to the home audio space without skimping on convenience or audio quality. Starting May 15, Bose will launch its new home audio speaker lineup, dubbed the Bose Lifestyle Collection.

Bose Lifestyle Ultra Collection: pricing, preorders, launch date, and features

Bose’s Lifestyle Collection features three new products: the compact Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, the versatile and powerful Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, and, for deep-bass enthusiasts, the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer.

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker starts at $299 and also comes in a limited-edition Driftwood Sand finish with a real white oak base for $399. The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar comes with a hefty premium of $1,099, while the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer is priced at $899. All models are currently available in Black, White, and Smoke finishes and are available for preorder on Bose’s website, with shipping scheduled to begin on May 15.

Working in concert, the entire setup can immerse a single room in music or function as a full home-theater system without looking out of place thanks to its aesthetic-focused design. Additional features include the ability to stream music using either Google Cast or Apple AirPlay. Furthermore, you can pair the system with speakers from other brands for a whole-home audio experience.

A host of new proprietary tech is making its way to consumers

Bose is packing its latest proprietary tech into the Lifestyle Collection, including TrueSpatial processing for height and depth, CleanBass, QuietPort to deliver the best from tight low-end frequencies with minimal distortion, and AI-powered SpeechClarity to enhance dialogue when watching shows or movies.

In its official press release, Bose president Raza Haider explained the Lifestyle Collection’s revival, saying, “With the Lifestyle Collection, we wanted every detail to serve a singular purpose: making exceptional sound easy to enjoy. The flexibility, refined aesthetic, and experience are all built to fit into life at home, delivering on the central promise that has defined Bose for decades: that sound matters.”

Bose senior product manager Gregory Haungs also chimed in and added some background information regarding the lineup, stating:

We’ve been working on this for about three years. This has been a plan at Bose for quite some time: to re-enter this space and make sure we’re doing it right. Maybe that meant we gained some additional market insights and learnings along the way.

Bose recommends starting with a single Ultra Speaker in a living room, bedroom, or kitchen, then adding another to experience true stereo audio. Bose says the Ultra Soundbar is perfect for watching TV, but adding the Ultra Subwoofer and extra speakers will provide the full 7.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos surround explerience.
