Return of Sony WH-1000X headphones confirmed with WH-1000XX launching in May
Sony will be announcing the Xperia 1 VIII tomorrow. In the meantime, the company has shared one last teaser about its new Xperia Product Announcement. However, it is not done with product launches this month just yet.
Instead, Sony has now started teasing the release of something else. As usual, the company has not revealed it has waiting in the wings. From what Sony has shown so far, we can discern that this is a new pair of headphones though, rather than the rumoured WH-1000XM6 refresh (curr. $458 on Amazon).
Sony adds that 'a masterpiece awaits', which it will fully unveil at 16:00 UTC on May 19. In the meantime, the design teased matches recent WH-1000XX leaks. Also referred to as The ColleXion, the over-ear headphones are expected to serve as a tenth anniversary model for the 1000X series.
Currently, the WH-1000XX is rumoured to be launching for $649 in the US. By contrast, the headphones have been tipped to reach the Eurozone for €629. Reportedly, Sony intends to sell the WH-1000XX in the UK for £549, too. Full hardware specifications remain unknown for now.
