Xiaomi updates Sound 2 Pro Hi-Fi speaker with new version

Xiaomi has updated its Sound 2 Pro speaker with a new version. Still equipped with a metal enclosure and multiple connectivity options, the Sound 2 Pro can now be purchased as a twin pack despite Xiaomi offering four-way speaker pairing.

A few months have passed since Xiaomi launched its Sound 2 Pro speaker. For context, the Sound 2 Pro is to be used indoors, unlike the company's recent Bluetooth Speaker Essential or Sound Outdoor (curr. $51.99 on Amazon) releases. However, the Sound 2 Pro is also a cheaper version of the Sound 2 Max.

Now, Xiaomi has updated its Sound 2 Pro offering with a new release. Specifically, the company now offers the speaker as a stereo pair with the same hardware as its initial release. Thus, the speakers deliver up to 40 W per unit with a 53 Hz-21.7 kHz frequency response. Also, Xiaomi includes RCA, USB Type-C and a modem that supports Bluetooth 5.2/Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

Xiaomi also clarifies that up to four Sound 2 Pro units can be paired simultaneously. When paired, these four speakers can create a 'spatial sound effect' marketed as Spatial Sound Field Reconstruction. Xiaomi sells the Sound 2 Pro Dual Pack for CNY 2,798 (~$411).
