Sony WH-1000XX headphones show premium look and new ear cup design before May release

The launch of Sony's next pair of WH-1000X headphones is seemingly almost upon us. For the time being, the company has not offered any indications about updating its WH-1000X series with a new model. Instead, it is focusing on its new Xperia Product Announcement, details of which we have covered separately.
Nonetheless, Damson Idris was spotted wearing a pair of unreleased Sony wireless headphones last week before the Met Gala. Now, Android Headlines and OnLeaks have partnered to provide a first look at the same headphones in a second colour option. At the same time, the pair have shared a higher quality image of the colour that was pictured last week.
Hence, it looks as though the design of the 'WH-1000XX The ColleXion' is very much real. Unlike the WH-1000XM6 (curr. $458 on Amazon), The ColleXion features a metal headband with arms enveloping over the top of it. Also, Sony has included additional headband padding while revising its earcup design, too.
Currently, Sony is expected to unveil The ColleXion on May 19. If that is the case, it would see the headphones arriving less than a week after the debut of the Xperia 1 VIII. Reportedly, Sony intends to sell its new over-ear wireless headphones for $649 or €629 in the Eurozone and £549 in the UK.
