New Sony 1000X wireless headphones detailed as US pricing leaks

Sony has not started teasing the release of a new pair of over-ear wireless headphones yet. Nonetheless, billbil-kun claims to have discovered new information about the long-rumoured 1000X The ColleXion headphones. First referenced in August 2025, the headphones were spotted on Sony's Australian and New Zealand websites earlier this month.
According to billbil-kun, Sony still plans to introduce its 1000X The ColleXion headphones globally on May 19. In the meantime, the leaker reports that the headphones will be available in the US for $649, which will make them a fair bit more expensive than the existing WH-1000XM6 (curr. $428 on Amazon). Similarly, the headphones are rumoured to reach Canada for CAD 849, with pricing set at £549 in the UK and €629 in the Eurozone.
Moreover, billbil-kun alleges that 1000X The ColleXion contain Sony's Integrated Processor V3, which it already uses inside the WF-1000XM6. The new headphones will support 360 Reality Audio too, as well as DSEE Ultimate upscaling and 360 Upmix. 12 precision microphones are also said to be onboard for ANC purposes, as are 6 beamforming microphones to maximise call quality.
On top of that, the headphones should last up to 24 hours on a single charge. A mere 5 minutes of charging should provide up to 90 minutes of playback, too. Incidentally, billbil-kun also references a Redditor who claims to be beta testing 1000X The ColleXion. Please note that the assertions by u/Ntinaras007 that The ColleXion features metal hinges and a plastic/faux-leather design remain unverified for now.
