Xgimi launches new laser TV with high native contrast ratio

The Xgimi Aura 3 Max Laser TV has been revealed in China. Designed for use in the living room, this model is described by the company as “cinema-grade” and “eye-friendly”. As its name suggests, the device builds on the older Aura 2 projector.
Xgimi’s new Aura 3 is a 4K projector with an ultra-short throw ratio of 0.16:1. This should allow you to project a 100” wide image at a distance of 12.8 cm (~5.04 inches), meaning the projector could be placed on a media unit or table close to the wall. The model uses the same X-Vision bionic optical engine as used in the recently launched X50 Ultra series.
According to Xgimi, the Aura 3 has a native 10,000:1 contrast ratio, with a maximum brightness level of 1,000 nits and 99% coverage of the BT.2020 color space. The model is designed to blend in with your home decor, with neutral tone casing measuring 588 x 285 x 137 mm (~23.6 x 11.2 x 5.4 inches). Plus, it has integrated speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.
In China, the Xgimi Aura 3 Max Laser TV will be offered as part of 100-inch and 150-inch sets, which include a wall-mounted screen. However, it is unclear how much these bundles will cost at launch. Xgimi has yet to confirm whether or when the Aura3 Max could be released in other markets; the company is currently selling the older Xgimi Aura Laser TV (curr. $1,899 at Amazon) in this market.
