Lenovo releases new 15-inch laptop globally with 64 GB RAM and 1,100 nit OLED display

Lenovo has finally started selling the ThinkPad X9 15P Aura Edition globally. Presented in January during CES 2026, the laptop is also known in some markets as the ThinkPad X9-15p Gen 1 Aura Edition or simply the ThinkPad X9-15p Gen 1. Setting naming aside, Lenovo's new 15-inch laptop effectively replaces the ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition (curr. $1,588 on Amazon).
Currently, the ThinkPad X9 15P Aura Edition can only be configured with the Core Ultra X7 358H. Lenovo's PSREF website suggests that Core Ultra 5 338H, Core Ultra X7 368H and Core Ultra X9 388H-powered variants will be eventually available, too. A 16-core processor from Intel's Panther Lake family, the Core Ultra X7 358H is the slowest of any Core Ultra X processor that Intel has launched to date.

Additionally, the processor features an Arc B390 iGPU and its 12 Xe3 GPU cores, which have fared well so far during our testing. Moreover, Lenovo complements this processor with LPDDR5X-9600 RAM, an 88 Wh battery and a choice between a pair of 15.3-inch OLED displays. Both 2.8K panels: only one supports touch inputs. According to Lenovo, the pair cover 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space while also delivering a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) and 500 nits peak brightness in SDR mode that rises to 1,100 nits in HDR mode.
For the time being, Lenovo sells the ThinkPad X9 15p Aura Edition in a single configuration across North America. Priced at $2,899 in the US and CAD 4,029 in Canada, this configuration features 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage and a touchscreen display.
Elsewhere, the laptop can be configured with up to 64 GB of RAM and a non-touch display. For instance, Lenovo charges £3,020 in the UK, AUD 3,582 in Australia and €2,862-€3,549 in the Eurozone. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
