Following the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, another manufacturer has announced a smartphone with a secondary rear display. Called the Nuu B40 5G, this phone isn't only cheaper than Xiaomi's new flagships, but it is also available to buy in the US.
The Nuu B40 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. The smaller display on the back, which Nuu calls the ‘Vista Display’, is also an AMOLED panel that's 1.6 inches in size and has a 228 × 460 resolution and 500 nits of peak brightness. The Vista display sits next to the dual rear cameras in a protruding island.
According to the product page, the secondary touchscreen can be used for various functions. It can display the time and date (has AOD), playback controls, charging status, call and message previews, and step count. It can also be used as a viewfinder for the camera and a camera shutter.
Powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7025, the Nuu B40 has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There's no mention of a MicroSD card slot, which means owners won't be able to add more storage. The phone has a 16MP front-facing camera while the back is home to a 64MP main camera and a 2MP macro camera. The camera app allows users to record videos using the front and rear cameras simultaneously. It also has a pro mode and will enable users to save in RAW format.
The Nuu B40 has dual-band WI-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port. However, it lacks NFC and an audio jack. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast wired charging. It also runs Android 15 out of the box.
Priced at $299.99, the Nuu B40 is available to buy now in Midnight Grey, and it is compatible with T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Mint, US Mobile, e.t.c.
