The Seiko Prospex series has somewhat of a legendary status among tool watch fans and divers, thanks to decades of reputation built on reliability and over-engineered Japanese movements. Prospex stands for "Professional Specifications". These are watches made to survive the extremities of the real world, so they should be more than fine with daily everyday wear.
Now, Seiko Malaysia has introduced a brand-new addition to the line-up: the Thong Sia Group Exclusive Prospex Alpinist SPB532J1. It's a limited run inspired by the snowy peaks of the world’s highest mountains, and it's being released exclusively for Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore. Only 800 pieces will be produced.
The headline feature here is the snow-white textured "powder" dial, intended to reflect the beauty of alpine landscapes. It’s a modern take on the classic Alpinist - a watch family more commonly known for green dials and compass bezels - now in a crisp, white-ice finish. This makes the SPB532J1 instantly distinguishable from standard models, particularly for collectors.
Here’s what buyers can expect:
- Movement: Seiko’s automatic 6R35 movement, with hand-winding capability, rated at +25/-15 seconds per day and a power reserve of 70 hours.
- Case: Stainless steel, 39.5mm diameter, 13.2mm thickness, 200-meter water resistance, and a screw-down crown.
- Crystal: Sapphire, supporting both durability and dial clarity.
- Strap: Blue textured nylon, suitable for both mountain hikes and everyday wear.
- Other Features: See-through case back, lumibrite on hands and hour markers, and a subtle silver case color.
- Calendar: Date window at 3 o’clock, with inner rotating ring.
Seiko is backing the exclusive run with a special presentation box, and the SPB532J1 is set at $1,127.10 for this release. It will be showcased at the Seiko Diver’s Watch 60th Anniversary event in Kuala Lumpur from 3-9 November 2025 and will reach authorized dealers from November 10th onward.
