Limited Edition Grand Seiko watch with remarkable accuracy on the way

The Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A. Limited Edition Model SLGB005 has been announced for the global market. This is an Evolution 9 Collection watch, with the company saying its textured, violet dial “captures the ethereal beauty of a frost-covered dawn”.

The SLGB005 uses the Spring Drive Caliber 9RB2, with a 72 hour power reserve and an annual rate of 20 seconds, making it an Ultra Fine Accuracy (U.F.A.) model. According to Grand Seiko, this makes it the most accurate watch movement on the market that is powered by a mainspring. Other features of the watch include 10 bar water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance.

Grand Seiko’s SLGB005 has three analog hands, for the hour, minute and second, and a basic date display. This limited edition watch also has a durable Ever-Brilliant Steel casing and band, with a transparent screw case back and a screw down crown. Plus, the striking purple dial is protected by sapphire crystal glass.

Grand Seiko will sell the Spring Drive U.F.A. Limited Edition Model SLGB005 in markets worldwide for $11,100/£9,500/€11,000. It will be released in November 2025, and the company has confirmed that there will only be 1,300 pieces available globally.
