Casio has released two new G-Shock Baby-G watches in Japan: the BGA-1100DC-1A and the BGA-1100DC-5A. The smaller watches are designed for “active” users, with a range of practical features.
The new G-Shock BGA-1100DC watches are radio-controlled with Multiband 6, compatible with standard time radio wave transmissions in Japan, North America, Europe and China. They support time for 48 cities worldwide and have tools like a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm. These hybrid watches have two analog hands and a small digital display that shows the date. Other features include Tough Solar charging, shock resistance and water resistance to 10 bar.
The Baby-G BGA-1100DC-1A is a black watch with a matching metal bezel and brown Arabic numerals. Meanwhile, the BGA-1100DC-5A has a brown and brown color scheme, also featuring a metal bezel and identical Arabic numerals. Each watch measures 44.2 x 39.8 x 12.9 mm (~1.7 x 1.6 x 0.5 inches) and weighs 38 g (~1.3 oz)
In Japan, the Casio G-Shock Baby-G BGA-1100DC-1A and BGA-1100DC-5A watches retail for ¥27,500 (~$193) each. It is unclear whether or when these two hybrid timepieces could be released in other markets like the US.
