Casio’s SAN-100H sauna watch is officially moving from crowdfunding to general release. This model, which has been purpose-built for sauna use, is designed to withstand temperatures up to 100°C and resembles classic sauna locker keys, both in visual presentation and packaging style. Available in black (SAN-100H-1BJR) and white (SAN-100H-7BJR) variants, the SAN-100H comes equipped with a high-contrast analog dial that should be readable in foggy and dim sauna environments, with luminescent hands for even more clarity. Its case construction avoids direct contact between metal and skin, and resin is used extensively to minimize heat transmission during sauna use.
Technically, the SAN-100H provides a dedicated "sauna mode" timer set to 12 minutes, operated with a simple button press, and quickly reset for multiple sauna sessions. The watch includes a special heat-resistant battery, and measures have been taken in the casing to prevent fogging under conditions of extreme temperature and humidity. It has a colorful, spiral coil strap and packaging decorated with sauna-themed illustrations.
Reservations for the general release open on October 1, with official release set for October 17. Retail price is set at 16,500 yen. Initial inventory is expected to be extremely limited and sales will be conducted via a lottery system on Casio Online, with other channels opening at 10 a.m. JST on launch day. Both band colors - orange/white and black - will be available from the start, with demand expected to be high based on pre-release crowdfunding response. You can fill out the lottery application here.
