Casio could be about to release the Pro Trek PRWB1000 watches more widely. The PRWB1000-1, also known as the PRWB1000-1CR, was available sporadically at Amazon in countries like the US from late June until early August.
Now, the Casio Pro Trek PRWB1000-1 and a second model, the PRWB1000-5, will reportedly be released more widely in the next few months. The PRWB1000-1 has a black face with silver accents. This is surrounded by a dark gray stainless steel bezel, with an accompanying black strap. The new PRWB1000-5 has a black face with golden/bronze accents, a black metal dial and a brown strap. The older Amazon listings indicate that the strap is Cordura, though another source indicates that it could be made from rubber, reinforced with Cellulose NanoFiber (CNF).
Features of the Pro Trek PRWB1000 include Bluetooth connectivity, radio control (mulitband 6) and support for world time in 55 cities. It is thought to be equipped with Casio’s Triple Sensor, a barometer, compass and thermometer, with information shown on the inset dials and digital display. Plus, it will have tools like a stopwatch, alarms and sunrise/sunset times. Also included is Tough Solar charging and a protective sapphire crystal.
The Casio Pro Trek PRWB1000-1 and PRWB1000-5 watches previously retailed for $580. It is unclear when these products will be released, and whether or not they will also come to Europe.
