Casio has been quietly phasing out its first full-metal 2100 lineup, and now it looks like the final nail is in the coffin. After discontinuing the GM-B2100D-1A in February this year, the company appears to have phased out the G-Shock GM-B2100BD-1A, the darker, greyed-out version that launched the series back in 2022.
The news was first spotted by Great G-Shock World, though fans probably saw this coming as the B2100BD-1A has been out of stock on Casio’s US and Japan sites for months. With the Silver and Rose Gold models already discontinued, and newer models like the GM-B2100AD and GM-B2100SD filling the lineup, it was only a matter of time before Casio pulled the plug on the trio. The watch is still up on Casio’s UK site, but what’s left is likely the last batch you’ll ever see.
The full-metal 2100 series certainly doesn't lack interesting options, but if you were a fan of the unique dark grey aesthetics of the GM-B2100BD-1, your only real shot now is scouring eBay or Facebook Marketplace.
The GM-B2100BD was the first full-metal entry in Casio’s 2100 series, giving one of G-Shock’s most recognizable silhouettes a premium spin. It carried over the octagonal bezel and textured band from the 1983 original, DW-5000C, but swapped resin for stainless steel for a more polished look. The watch also retains the traditional screw-back case and offers features like Bluetooth Smartphone Link, solar charging, hand shift feature, world time, shock resistance, and water resistance up to 200 meters.
