Seiko has just announced a new limited edition in its Presage Classic Series. The model comes equipped with a leather strap made entirely from surplus and offcut leather sourced from Regal, a longstanding Japanese shoemaker. Only 3,000 individually numbered pieces are being released worldwide.
As mentioned earlier, the defining feature is the use of upcycled Regal shoe leather for the strap, which is carefully selected and stitched to mimic high-end Japanese loafers. The lining within the strap matches the premium material found inside Regal’s shoes. Beige decorative stitching is also added near the case.
The dial employs a gradient "Shiracha" brown, and it is a color that has been long-admired during the Edo period for its warm tone. Its soft transition resembles Japanese silk textures and is paired with gold-tone indexes and hands. The stainless steel case is finished in a rich brown tone, shaped with flowing curves, and features three-dimensional bezel detailing.
