Two Citizen Promaster Blue Impulse Limited Edition watches, the CA4661-09A and the CA4665-59L, are about to launch in Japan. Inspired by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's acrobatic flying team, these timepieces have a blue and silver color scheme. Features include Eco-Drive technology, an aviation slide rule and a chronograph.

Citizen has revealed two new Promaster Blue Impulse Limited Edition watches in Japan, the CA4661-09A and the CA4665-59L. This Sky Series model no.6 celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's acrobatic flying team.

While both watches have a blue and silver color scheme, the CA4661-09A has a white dial with blue accents and a tan leather strap, and the CA4665-59L has a blue dial with a silver colored stainless steel band. In each case, the watch has a compact case with a 40 mm (~1.6 inch) diameter, measuring 13.5 mm (~0.5 inches) thick. Plus, both timepieces have a sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating.

The Citizen Sky Series model no.6 is powered by the Photovoltaic Eco-Drive caliber B620, with an up to nine-month run time on a single charge. There is an overcharge prevention function, as well as a simple date display with a quick date correction tool. On sub-dials in the 3-6-9 positions, users can view the time in a 24-hour format, or use the 1/5th second chronograph with a 60-minute counter. Other features include an aviation slide rule, 20ATM water resistance, and magnetic resistance (type 1). The three analog hands are said to remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month.

In Japan, the Citizen Promaster Blue Impulse Limited Edition watches will be released on November 1st. The CA4661-09A will retail for ¥88,000 (~$571), with 500 pieces on offer. The CA4665-59L is more expensive at ¥99,000 (~$642), with 900 units available. It appears that these timepieces will not be released in other markets.
